As a youth talent training plan of GCOE Project in Graduate School of Law of Tohoku University, the Ph. D. Joint Training Program, i.e., Transnational Ph. D. Program, which is implemented through collaboration with foreign cooperating agencies, was successfully launched with the first students being admitted into Graduate School of Law of Tohoku University in October, 2009.

The students from the overseas cooperating agencies of GCOE will study in Tohoku University for one year and will then submit their Ph. D. dissertations to the universities of both parties for the Ph. D. Degree being granted from these universities. Among the nine students being admitted this time, there are three Tsinghua University students. On October 2, these students received the orientation education.
