"Hagi Seminar 2009" of Tohoku University was held in Sendai and Matsushima from October 15 to 18, 2009. This Wormwood Symposium was jointly hosted with another five GCOE research projects of Graduate School of Law and Politics, which further deepened the exchange with the researchers from home and abroad in the way of reports and discussions.

In this Symposium, the experts in gender and multicultural symbiosis delivered the speeches to the students being admitted into Ph. D. Joint Training Program, i.e., Transnational Ph. D. Program, in Graduate School of Law of Tohoku University in October. The researchers in the Chinese cooperating agency of GCOE also attended the Symposium, in which Professor Han Dongxue from Tsinghua University introduced its university, and Professor Zhu Xiaoqing from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences gave a report on the gender mainstreaming in China.
